Messy Children!

We have been leaving the dogs out when we are gone which has been great and they have not had a problem....unitl today! We were out running errands this morning and we came back to this...

They got into the garbage and tore everything up. They must have had a great time. We had to put them away and then sweep and mop the floor to make sure that we got it all up. They are still cute though!

I Suck!

Ok, so I totally suck at keeping this up to date! I know that it would be one of those things that I was really 'gung ho' about in the beginning and then it would taper off. Just like all of my other projects! Well, me and Mike are getting ready to go to New Mexico for my grandparents 60th Wedding Anniversary. Gosh, I hope that we get to see that one day! Anyways, this will be the first time that Mike has met my grandparents and I haven't seen them in almost 10 years. Wow, time really does fly right before your eyes! We have to board the dogs while we are away but we found a good place for them to stay. They stayed there for 7 days while we were on our cruise in March and when we went to pick them up they were great! The employees were very sad to see them go because they thought they were soooo cute. They are adorable! :) They get to stay in indoor/outdoor runs and get to play in a big grassy backyard with the employees twice a day. They are only going to be there Friday afternoon until Sunday morning so it will be a short trip. I am a little worried just because Hef has been sick since Saturday and I hope he is better before we go. He has had bloody diarrhea, shaky all over like he is always cold, decreased appetite, and is EXTREMELY cuddly....basically like a flu bug. I took him to the Vet because I was worried about him. Usually Mike tells me I am overreacting but he was actually worried too so it made me worry even more! The Vet told me that he thinks that he either ate something that didn't agree with him or that he might have parasites so he gave me some medication and special diet to put him on. He actually seemed better today. He is acting more like himself but still has the diarrhea and he actually threw up. I felt so bad because we keep them in their kennel while we are at work and when I came home to let them out Hef ran straight outside because he had to poop so bad! I felt so bad for him. I might try and leave them out if Mike is cool with it tomorrow just so he doesn't have to be uncomfortable for that long. He is so trained not to poop in his kennel that he will hold it until he bursts!

Long Time!!!

Sorry that I have not posted in a long time! Our computer hard drive crashed and it has taken us over a month to get it fixed. Not because we didn't know how but because it hasn't really been a top priority. Work has been hectic. We had about 70 layoffs at the beginning of January that I had to be apart of since I am in the HR Department. Let me tell you it isn't a real fun thing to tell someone that they are getting laid off....especially when it is someone that you are really close to! I hope that the company won't need to do that again! You don't really understand how bad the economy is until it hits you personally. I feel very grateful that both Mike and I have good jobs and we are able to make it.

Snow Day in Vegas!

So, who says it never snows in Vegas?! On Thursday, we got 8 inches of snow. Since Vegas doesn't really have the snow equipment like most places, they sent us home early from work and closed the schools.

We of course had to try out the boy's new coats that I bought them but they were too big. They didn't like them at all! Chuck was having soooo much fun in the snow! He was attacking it and biting the little snow balls!

We have a new roommate that is living with us for a few months. She is one of my co-workers and she has a 2 year old boy. He is cute but he is scared of the dogs and the dogs are scared of him! They will eventually get along. It has only been 1 day and so far they are getting a little better. This will give me a taste of reality on if I can handle a child. I will keep everyone posted on that!

Hef turns 2!

Well, today is Hef's birthday. It is the same day as the Pearl Harbor attacks. He turned 2 years old. He got a few extra treats today because of that. If I had all of the money in the world I would have thrown him a birthday party but that didn't happen this year.

I went Christmas shopping this weekend and I ended up spending more on my dogs than anyone else. I couldn't believe it after I added it all up! People say kids are expensive but if your dogs are your kids then I know what people now go through. They are expensive.

Chuck is feeling better now. He ended up chewing off his bandage one of the days we were at work but his leg seems to be completely healed. I haven't taken him back to the vet yet but I don't think that I will need to. He is running around and playing with Hef. He jumps up and down off of the couch with no problem.

Crippled Puppy!

I took Chuck to the vet on Friday to get his leg looked out again because he was still limping pretty bad. She took x-rays of the leg and she couldn't see any broken bones but he wasn't cooperating real well so she didn't get a great shot of it. She had to give him a pain shot so she could at least bend his leg. He was pretty stoned the rest of the day. He was so out of it that he couldn't even stand up! She wrapped a bandage around his leg and told me that he was on bed rest and to keep him in his kennel for the next week. I am only suppose to take him out 3 times a day for 5-10 minutes at a time to eat and go to the bathroom. That hasn't really worked because he whines the entire time he is in there during the day so it makes Hef whine the entire time. We took him out so he could lay on the pillow in our living room. He is ok as long as he is tired but if he isn't he runs around here like nothing. I even think the bandage helps him run better! He slides around corners and plays with Hef. We have even caught him jumping up and down on the couch! This is a picture of him a little out of it. We had just gotten back from the vet. That was not a vet bill that I was expecting or wanted. It was $220 for the x-rays, pain shot and bandage. I keep trying to claim them on my insurance but they won't let me!

These pictures are of his puppies he likes to cuddle with when he is tired. The big one is now in the trash because he already tore it up but the one with spots is a new one that is made for tuff chewers like my babies. It doesn't have stuffing in it so even if there is a whole it doesn't matter. The material is stronger too.

One whole week off of work!

Well, Mike and I have a whole week off of work. It has been great so far. Even though we seem to still go to bed by 11pm and wake up by 7am. Not cause we want to but the dogs wake up so early that we have to get up and then since you woke up so early, you get tired earlier. It is a vicious cycle!

Mike is now 30! He says that he doesn't feel any different but I think he looks even more handsome! I stayed a little late the day before his birthday to decorate his cubile. His boss helped me blow up all of those balloons. Note to self: buy a balloon pump next time! We went out to the strip for his birthday with some friends and just hung out. We couldn't go walking much because one of our friends broke her foot so she was on crutches. Gosh, I do not miss those days!

In this picture, Chuck was helping me study but he just feel asleep instead. What a great son! For some reason everytime that I pull out my books to do homework, Chuck has to lay like this. Actually, most of the time half of his body is on the notebook!

This is now Hef's favorite spot. Especially when the sun is hitting right there. Isn't he cute!
